He was remembering that moment and appreciated Dennis for what he was, Dave really looked fifty years younger when he smiled like that.

The footage of them live on stage on this tour looks to be from early on in the first few shows because Al is still positioned at Mike's right; before he and David switched sides a few shows into the tour. I hope the DVD catches them later in the tour especially since they added a whole batch of new songs since the start of the tour.
