Title: Darlin 1978 Australia Post by: thebeachboysfan1 on June 24, 2012, 07:38:32 PM I've heard Carl fell into the drums?
Is there audio or video of this anywhere? Never seen/heard it, but I've seen Surfer Girl. :o Title: Re: Darlin 1978 Australia Post by: LdC on June 24, 2012, 08:11:02 PM Ive seen you tube of God Only knows from perth. All I can say I'm glad that he pulled it togther so much, especially when you compare to knebworth 2 years later...amazing difference.
Title: Re: Darlin 1978 Australia Post by: thebeachboysfan1 on June 24, 2012, 09:13:24 PM I agree.....I have the March 15th show, but not the 14th.....I've heard people say the whole show circulates....but....no luck for me....and....I'd really like to hear it.
;) Title: Re: Darlin 1978 Australia Post by: acedecade75 on June 24, 2012, 09:19:15 PM A full audio recording exist of one of the famouse shows where Carl was drunk. He slurrs his way through God Only Know and Darlin. It's not pretty. It's one of those recording that probably shouldn't be heard by everyone.
Title: Re: Darlin 1978 Australia Post by: thebeachboysfan1 on June 24, 2012, 09:22:30 PM DO you mean Good Vibrations? I've heard that, but I really, really, really wanna hear Darlin....I don't care if it's not pretty.
I've heard he misses like half the second verse....this would be interesting to hear ;) Title: Re: Darlin 1978 Australia Post by: acedecade75 on June 24, 2012, 09:27:28 PM Yes, the recording does include the terrible performance of Darlin.

So, you've heard it before?Title: Re: Darlin 1978 Australia Post by: Jay on June 25, 2012, 09:52:09 PM Carl misses most of the second verse of Darlin', and seems to knock the microphone over. I've read in a few books that Carl was asked to leave the stage, and didn't come back until Good Vibrations. That's not true though, because you can clearly hear him singing background vocals on every song. He makes a fairly big mess out of All This Is That at this show, too. Brian's vocal on Wouldn't It Be Nice is horrible too. The first time I heard it, I couldn't even figure out who was singing it.

Title: Re: Darlin 1978 Australia Post by: Jason on June 26, 2012, 10:50:59 AM That March 14th show is a farce to say the very least. You can hear just how irritated Michael is, Brian is just out of it, and Dennis and Al seem to be the only ones really into the gig. You can hear him fall over at the very end of Darlin' if you listen for the guitar feedback (the guitar must have hit the ground when he fell over).
Title: Re: Darlin 1978 Australia Post by: Al Jardine: Pick Up Artist on June 26, 2012, 01:32:10 PM Somebody needs to set up an FTP server, and upload a whole bunch of BB 'legs, and give accounts to people who want to upload some. It can be impossible to find stuff.
NOT THAT I'M SERIOUSLY SUGGESTING THIS COUGH COUGH SPUTTER SPUTTER Title: Re: Darlin 1978 Australia Post by: Jay on June 27, 2012, 12:27:33 AM Oddly enough, the version of the March 14th show that I have seen doing the rounds is missing Good Vibrations, which is available on a different bootleg, but it's slightly incomplete.
