Title: New Beach Boys Fan-Mix Compilation
Post by: seltaeb1012002 on June 19, 2012, 09:29:14 AM
Hey everyone,

So, after devoting many, many fan mixing hours to SMiLE A.D. 1 - 4 (and an aborted 5.0) I've decided to start my next fanmix project.

The goal of this one is to create cool new mash-ups, extended versions (not in a HCTN album mix kind of way) a capellas, and more alternate dimension recordings, a la SMiLE AD.

So far, I've started:

Wouldn't It Be Nice (stereo mix - alternate vocal)
Meant For You (a capella)
Meant For You (extended mix)
Lonely Days (extended mix)

..and a few others I'd rather keep as surprises.  :smokin

The reason I post this now is because I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas for cool new stereo variations / mash-ups, etc. I'm all ears!

Best,
J

Stereo mixes of all the Today songs that don't already have them would be splendid,

Wild Honey (album) stereo mixes if possible. (I don't know how easy all of that stuff is lol.)

Please create GOD KNEW THE LITTLE DIXIE GIRL, a piece that uses various vocal and instrumental elements of the choruses (and possibly other parts) of Trombone Dixie, The Little Girl I Once Knew and God Only Knows.

Cool, cool.

That's actually not as crazy as I read it at first.

Any more ideas?

I started isolating Brian's vocal from Daddy Dear, but the rendition is so erratic that there's not much I can do with it in terms of remixing.

Also started a stereo version of Teeter Totter Love, which seems like it could be promising.

Maybe a mash up of FTTBA/PCH/Summer's Gone, using elements from all three (and maybe even other BB/BW songs) to make an epic masterpiece statement.

Also, ditto on the Little Girl/Trombone Dixie idea.

WHY DON'T YOU MAKE A 6.1 MIX OF "THE LITTLE GIRL I ONCE KNEW" AKA "LGIOK" FOR ME RIGHT NOW.

You want autotune on that?

If anyone actually wants to hear any of this stuff, feel free to shoot me a PM.

I've always been curious to hear someone make a mix combining a bunch of the material from the late 67 - 69 outtakes.

Old Man River
Old Folks At Home/Ol' Man River
Walk On By
Can't Wait Too Long
Lonely Days
We're Together Again
Out In The Country

I Went To Sleep would probably fit in too since 20/20 was a bit of an odds and ends comp anyway.

Maybe something like:

Lonely Days>Walk On By>I Went To Sleep>Old Folks At Home/Ol' Man River>Out In The Country>Can't Wait Too Long>We're Together Again>Old Man River
