Title: The tour t-shirts
Post by: Runaways on June 12, 2012, 06:38:12 AM
Would it hurt them to sell shirts that didn't shrink 2 sizes after washing? Ended up being a waste of 35 bucks.

so warning to everyone, buy up a size.  I'm gonna be ordering a new shirt off the website. BUMMER.

I sized up on good advice for the replica Appeal to the Spirit Endless Summer tour shirts sold online a while ago… they didn't shrink, sadly…

hot water and/or dryer = shrink

cold water/hand dry = very little or no shrink

cheaper material usually = shrink anyway

T-shirt pricing is skewed so much, it's hard for me to pay $35 or $40 for any t-shirt, let alone one of only middling quality. Most of the merch on this tour, apart from the program, appears to be about the quality you'd get from something on "Cafe Press." The quality of the raw product is only so-so, and the printing doesn't look quite shart enough.

I'm much happier with a nice poster and program, and maybe something else a little more potentially permanent like a mug.

I bought some shirts in the aftermath of Brian's '06 and '07 shows. The '07 shirt was nice. The '06 Pet Sounds shirt I bought, the one with the giraffe on the front, was a "2XL", and I would be hard pressed to find a skinny teenager that could fit into it.

So, Runaways, you looking for someone to take that shrunken smock off your hands?  :afro

Seriously, if you want to sell it for a reduced price, I (or someone else here I imagine) would be interested.
