Title: TWGMTR available in 24 bit / 48 kHz
Post by: AlFall on June 08, 2012, 01:46:11 PM
Just downloaded it ... great sound.  Mark Linett confirmed on this board that The Smile Sessions release on this site is from the 24-bit masters, not upsampled, so I assume this is as well.

I'm psyched that the Boys are working with HDTracks for these releases. Now, I just need high resolution versions of BWPS, TLOS, and BWRG and I will be a happy man!

Don't know why you'd assume that. Linett had nothing to do with TWGMTR.

Still, it shows that their previous release was not upsampled for the HDTracks version. Knowing that TSS is true high-res is enough for me to give this version of TWGMTR a try.

I checked several tracks with Spek and the 24-bit HDtracks version of TWGMTR is not up-sampled.   It represets a noticeable improvement in sound quality over the CD version, well worth it!
