Went down to Laguna Beach today. The surf was WAY up in Huntington Beach today....storm I guess. Surfers everywhere!!!!!! The coast is beautiful. Hadn't been this far south before, never south of Hermosa and Redondo. Its quite beautiful in Orange County. I thought about going to Hawthorne to the monument but the locals say it is next to compton and NOT a place to go voluntarily if you don't want to risk your ass. Went to Mr. C's rare records in Old Orange yesterday. Bought the PS of Darlin with the drawing of the sunshine. Very nice. Cost way too much but just had to have it. Mr C had pictures of himself and his old friend Dick Dale hanging around the record store over the last 20 years. He had a lot of great stories to tell. A real treasure of local music history.
