Everyone should just take a step (or two) back, and enjoy this for it is: pure awesomeness. It's 2012 (!), the 5 remaining Beach Boys are back together, releasing a new album (!) and playing more than 50 gigs worldwide (!!).

I guess I haven't been totally calm since the announcement late last year. It's exhausting, really.  ;D

Definitely sounded better than I expected, especially with it being in a baseball stadium.

I just can't accept the fact Jeff is singing lead on "Surfer Girl"

I'm more concerned about whatever the hell John Cowsill is doing  :lol

Only Mike can pull off the "I see you" wave to fans while performing.

I know, what's with Cowsill beating his chest?  He looks so "special" doing that.

Is the audience singing along with them? That is cool if it is so.

The staging of it is weird.  Seems like five principals should have been in the middle flanked by Scott, John and Jeff, instead of being off to the side like that.  Reminds me of the "Summer Of Love" video when you couldn't really figure out who was supposed to be in the band.  It probably had something to do with having the guitars front and center, but it still looks odd to me.

Looks to me like he's playing some kind of hand percussion, though if he is it's inaudible.

Even better it's not really a "I see you" it's this dainty, strange pointing gesture that a more delicate man would get accused of homsexuality for. 

Maybe he's got an electric drum set surgically implanted into his abdomen but they forgot to plug in the cable.

Or... .maybe he's drunk!  I mean it's always a possibility, I'm just throwing that out there. 

It's a classic when he does it with the pinky finger.  For my own entertainment, I like to think that there's no one really waving to him, he just likes doing those waves.  Mike's cool.

Haha, Jagger's competition, no doubt.  But no one does it just like Mike  ;)  But if we were to have a competition between Jagger and Love of who POINTS the best...now that'd be a tough match.

Cowsill, in my opinion, has the timing and precision of a Swiss timepiece.  "Keeping the beat" is his expertise, and I would even opine that his drumming surpasses the great and sexy Dennis (whose talent as a composer went un-recognized and largely under-valued for decades.)

Likely, he could not contain "keeping that beat" demonstratively, in some regard.  I find it charming and consistent with his artistry. 

Sounds like beach boy music will be played this summer at dodgers stadium... I think the 28th of May is beach boy day...the guys faces will be on cups and other items..if all goes as planned.....sounds like summer fun.
