Highlights:

• That's Why God Made The Radio - the single will be released on Wednesday
• Doesn't know when the album will be released but it is almost completely done
• Rehearsals haven't started yet - start on 'the 15th'
• Chemistry between the guys is still there, Dave refers to them as 'brothers'
• There will be 'surprises' on the tour
• Dave will sing a couple of tunes

But it sounds like what I said about the setlist in another thread. David mentions that all the hits will be played, some songs from the album (the new album certainly) and some Pet Sounds material. So, don't look for too many rarities like "I went to sleep" for example. As mentioned before, it seems that Mike understands Pet Sounds-material as rarities and Brian is comfortable with a hits show like he did in recent years. But I hope to hear something along the lines of "Wendy" and "The surfer moon". Mike and Brian mentioned "The little girl I once knew" and "The warmth of the sun" in an interview which both would be great. Maybe Al will make sure they do "Lookin' at tomorrow"

I don't care much for the setlists. I can listen to any song anytime if I want to. For me it's all (ok, 90%) in the performance. If the perform kick-ass versions of the hits and hits only, I'm fine.

We'll get heroes and villains I bet, thatll be the smile song. Though I'd enjoy wonderful

I hope I didn't spend $125 just to hear the basic hit songs. Well, at least I can say I got to see 5 members from the 60s on stage at once.

Paying $125 for the reunion gig of a 60's/70's band - you pay to hear the hits and to see some surviving members. In this case: all of them surviving members and probably a few songs that weren't singles or popular album cuts. You can forget about "I Went To Sleep", but "Surfer Moon" is a possibility.

I care about the setlist but I am fine with the hits. As long as they do it good. One of  the stronger Brian or Mike'n'Bruce shows from recent years would be fine. But it seems that some people would be disappointed if they won't hear "Surf's up".

I would be bummed about an all-hits show, set list-wise. Should be a mix. I'm not paying to see a Mike/Bruce Greatest Hits set like I saw last time. Pretty uninspired set, to be honest.

Sounds like you're setting yourself up for disappointment then. Most people don't go to concerts hoping to see obscure, rarely played songs. They use the time when bands do play those to take a piss and get another beer. The general populace wants hits. And The Beach Boys have lots of those and have to play them so they don't disappoint the crowd by playing a bunch of b-sides that only a fraction of the crowd actually knows.

Either save your money or just enjoy the fact that you have a chance to see the surviving members of your favorite band performing their hits.

Exactly, and it isn't just Mike & Bruce either. Many, many shows over the years since 1981 with Carl, and even Dennis were greatest hits shows. That is the problem when you are a band with 35 Top 40 hits, plus a few AC Top 40, as well. A good problem to have in many respects.

I'm gonna be screaming at the top of my lungs for Reiley-era songs from way back on the lawn. They better do Trader, California, Only With You, and Funky Pretty!

California is almost a lock I'd say. But trader and only with you? No way

They asked on facebook what songs the fans want to hear on the tour.
I was surprised how many people were suggesting the hits.

That's because it's Facebook and 98% of the people who "Liked" that page are just casual fans and those songs are the only ones they know. The Beach Boys don't really exist outside of Sounds Of Summer or Endless Summer.

Better think about giving your tickets to someone else

I'm hoping its at least similar to the '93 Bos Set tour, minus the chintzy keyboards. But I'm not yet ready to give up hope for Long Promised Road and/or Feel Flows.

I suspect we'll get something similar to the Mike/Bruce/David UK tour sets of 2008, where they included Here Today, You Still Believe In Me, Til I Die, All This Is That, Good Timin', Forever, Kiss Me Baby, Let Him Run Wild, Sail On Sailor and Everyone's In Love With You along with the hits. I don't expect *all* of those to be played, but it wouldn't surprise me if most were. California will almost certainly be played, because Al's in the band, and it wouldn't surprise me too much if they did Honkin' Down The Highway, since it's on Al's album, it's a rarity that will please the hardcore fans, but it's also something that would fit the sound of a hits show.
They'll almost certainly do Heroes & Villains -- if they do any more Smile songs I'd guess at Vegetables and maybe Wonderful.

Of course GV would be a Smile song as well. Maybe you're right about Vegetables and/or Wonderful. But I kinda doubt we'll hear more Smile material than GV and H&V - just a feeling, I can be wrong of course.
"Honkin' down the highway" was mentioned by Al when he toured with Brian. They did an interview with a magazine and Al said something like "Well, that would be a great song to play live" to Brian. I'd love to hear it. It's one of my favorite Beach Boys tunes.

I predict there will be two setlists used on the tour. One will be a meat-and-potatoes hits set for the big venues. But the band is also booked into a handful of theaters and smaller venues. You'll have a second setlist for those, which will be much more like the Mike and Bruce European shows.

Just my prediction -- which is an easy one to make if you see the venues.
