there she is... Two -L280 pickups on neck and bridge and I can't remember the model number of the humbucker pickup (and I cant find it on the site either) these pickups sound like a dream, totally rule the stock Seymour Duncan pickups. Title: Re: Favorite Guitar Post by: scooter on March 30, 2006, 06:13:04 PM It's been a long day, I'm tired, and ready to cry..."worms", I had one of those in honey blonde with a maple neck...forced to sell it...all three pick ups at once--VERY NICE IMO :( the single coils were a bit noisy, but NOW it comes with "Noiseless" pick ups...My friend Roy still has the white Rick bass he bought in '75 or so...plays in a country band with it !! Had a Mexican Tele Deluxe, sold it... :( Had a late 70s Tele w/Bigsby...sold it :( And finally, had a 1965 Fender Electric XII (paid $200, traded it [and a mid 70s Epiphone semi solid 335 lookin ax] for the Tele, got $100 for it) There's only so much you can do with an electric XII, but it was my favorite :( >:( :-[ :'( :'( :'(

Yes I agree of course...actually I play a bit o geetaarr myself and I have never owned a 12 string[acoustic or electric]...but I love the way McGuinn used it!!!!!!!! Title: Re: Favorite Guitar Post by: cta on April 01, 2006, 02:26:16 PM Gibson SG.
Sure, I love the Fender Strat due to it's basic build and the way it can burn up doing some nasty leads...but, I'm not a great of a lead. Starts aren't the best for rhythm or making full warm leads. I prefer the Les Paul, but it rather does a nice number on the back because of where I play it in front of me, so I go for the SG for the almost identical L.P. neck, the 99% L.P. sound and it being much less awkward in weight. I can take a little of the SG's clanky sound by fuzzing up the stomp box a little, which gives it, to my ears, a Les Paul fuzz sound. But for clean plucky sound, I like the Strat using the 2nd setting on the switch from the top setting (top & middle pickups on). Has a very 80's Madonna guitarist sound, but it's not completely bad. Think of Pearl Jam's Yellow Ledbetter...or Yellow Bedwetter, depending on if you love or hate P.J. I can't pick. What a ferkin dilemma.
