But, if you listen to what he was saying, he's actually correct. Title: Re: Murry Post by: Cam Mott on March 20, 2012, 03:49:52 AM I'm sure Murry had his faults but I sometimes wonder if we aren't putting too much store in the opinions of Murry from people who were kids and business associates.

Title: Re: Murry Post by: Iron Horse-Apples on March 22, 2012, 02:44:51 PM Yes we laugh at Murry, and there's a lot to laugh at. But it is doubtful the Beach Boys would have made it without him. It's also a tragedy and a truism, that many people who are abused, go on to abuse their own children.
I have a lot of pity for Murry. Obviously intelligent. Very complex. Completely f*cked up. And without him, the term "I'm a genius too Brian", would not have entered the modern lexicon. A term I use daily. With conviction. Title: Re: Murry Post by: joshferrell on March 22, 2012, 03:02:53 PM Yes we laugh at Murry, and there's a lot to laugh at. Please, please someone tell me there's quotes. Honestly, how fantastic would it be to have been a fly on the wall as Murry sat listening to She's Goin Bald and Windchimes for the first time...

Adopted, even though he mysteriously resembled his older, supposedly non-biological brother.
