This is one of my favorite topics of all. I'm still fascinated by that GV promo and where and how it was filmed.

I actually took the Google Maps camera function and took a virtual tour of the area where the GV film was shot, specifically around the firehouse which is now of course the LA Firefighting Museum. I wanted to post more screen captures but the task was bigger and more time-consuming than I could spare. But with that Google technology, you can try the same thing: pinpoint the address of the fire station, zoom in with Google, and start "walking" in all directions. It's pretty cool.

I'd like to get all of these collated and combined into one thread eventually, it's too good not to have archived in one place. I love before-and-after shots, and Google Maps, plus the information of a few great individuals and fans on this board made it possible to finally see these places.

This is pretty cool.  I love using Google Maps to go find places I visited as a kid, or old houses I lived in, or whatever and see what's changed.  Sometimes it looks drastically different than what I remember... and other times, like you just did, it's picture perfect exactly as I imagined.
