Title: would you like "let's do it again" Aka:"black widow" for the new cd? Post by: joshferrell on March 09, 2012, 09:32:42 PM i've always liked this one and think it would be cool to hear them do this one for the new cd..I like the fact that it's "dark" and the younger generation may like it since they like dark music..what do you think? also since they are doing "do it again" maybe "let's do it agian" could be a part 2 to the original or a tag of some sort or part of the "medley" that has been talked about that is supposed to be on the cd...Personally I like the title "black widow" better just because it's cooler..

I've always thought this was a track Brian should reuse. I guess the problem is that the Black Widow lyric is a little too strange, but the Landy-fied rewrite is too trite. It would need to be rewritten a third time. Still, I'd love to hear it out officially. Title: Re: would you like \ Post by: Andrew G. Another one is I Sleep Alone except for the gay lyrics :kiss By gay, do you mean happy, charming and joyful? I love that song, and it wouldn't be the same without that wonderfully unselfconscious lyric. I know Landy and co probably had a hand in it, but a beautiful song with a quirky lyric, to me is pure BW And if it was purposefully homo erotic, then that's more strings to his bow then. It was written for a lady... that alas never recorded it. Music is good, lyrics meh. Title: Re: would you like \ Post by: SMiLE Brian on March 11, 2012, 04:40:10 PM Black Widow is a cool song. Sarah Brightman. Title: Re: would you like \ Post by: joshferrell on March 12, 2012, 12:37:21 PM I think it's kind of funny when Men sing lyrics meant ffor Women..I have a Gershwin cd that has songs from the 20's and 30's and there's a version of "The man I Love" on it sung by a guy and everytime I listen to it I can't help but picture some vauldvilian guy dressed in drag singing on some stage somewhere.lol..and Burt Bacharach wrote songs about womens point of view and sang some of them on his solo albums with the original lyrics but he had a way of using female background singers to sing with him in order to make it both feminine and masculine..but yeah maybe Brian can do one last "Honeys" cd and they can do "I sleep alone" or something lke that..
