Title: Bonaroo
Post by: sheknowsmetoowell on February 16, 2012, 12:47:26 PM
I'm pumped that they're playing at Bonaroo this year. Hopefully it will make up for their lack of presence at the '67 Monterey Pop Festival.

We already have a Bonnaroo thread: click here (http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,12303.0.html).

And how exactly does the Beach Boys situation in 2012 relate to 1967? Nobody in the general public remembers them not appearing at Monterey, anyway.

It's an amusing remark but surely you don't actually take it seriously do you?  Absolutely nothing will "make up" for them missing Monterey.  It's great that the Beach Boys are playing Bonraroo but will it be able to now rewrite their history?  No.

It does show that they now realize the significance of such a festival and how it can expose them to a contemporary audience, something they missed with Monterey.
