The BBs certainly sang them like they meant every word. It's that lack of cynicism/irony which is one of the (many) reasons I love the band.

I prefer God Only Knows and this is a close second as favourite beach boys song but definitely the one I'd sing to a girl for sure.

The songs mentioned from Today are incredible, and of course Pet Sounds. Surfer Moon and Your Summer Dream rate pretty high in my book, but Surfer Girl is an all time great. Simple and sublime.

Don't Talk is my first choice. We'll Run Away didn't immediately come to mind, but great call. that last line chokes me up more often than not. Time To Get Alone? there really are a lot to choose from. some of the best have that ironic element: first line of God Only Knows, or the title This Isn't Love i'm listening to What Love Can Do presently and it foots the bill quite nicely. Plus it's friggin' awesome.
"Forever" will always be romantic for me because a friend of mine got married a couple of years ago and I played guitar on that song and harmonized on it during her ceremony. But yeah, hands down, "Wouldn't It Be Nice" just knocks me out every single time. It just has that combination of joy, sadness, anxiety, elation, the whole Brian Wilson romance package.
