Title: A new SMyLE mix Post by: Summertime Blooz on February 12, 2012, 09:14:41 PM Please listen to my Smyle mix in stereo (and fake stereo). As you can see I stuck pretty close to the December '66 tracklist order. I moved
Wind Chimes to precede The Elements and now I'm In Great Shape precedes The Old Master Painter to form a Barnyard Suite. There are several short unlisted tracks on there too. I hope you enjoy the surprises- I recommend listening with headphones if you can. I had many hours of fun making it. Thanks to the other Smile enthusiasts whose work is represented here, especially to Seltaeb for his wonderful Cabin Essence and Look and Holidays vocal sections. Mostly though, thanks to Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys for the incredible music. http://www.mediafire.com/?rta1j711lo8cwt2 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/52684612/Smyle_Front.jpg) (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/52684612/Smyle_Back.jpg) Title: Re: A new SMyLE mix Post by: Biggus Dikkus on February 12, 2012, 09:33:30 PM I'll be sure to listen to it very soon.

Title: Re: A new SMyLE mix Post by: EgoHanger1966 on February 13, 2012, 10:52:57 AM I haven't listened to it all yet - only on the second track, but your version of Worms is INCREDIBLE.

I understand that this melding of Worms and Holidays won't be to a lot of people's taste since it departs pretty radically from the Smile Sessions and BWPS but I prefer it when these fan mixes try out some new things. It's all in good fun for me. I've wondered for awhile now what it would be like to have the two sort of blended together, since they seem to be linked thematically. I'm real happy with the way it flows and Seltaeb's Holidays vocal parts are the icing on the cake. Thanks for the kind response and I hope you enjoy the rest of what you hear. My apologies to oldsurferdude if you read this board. No, that was a joke, as the "y" in "Smyle" made me think of oldsurferdude, as he always refers to the Lovester as "Myke Luhv". Title: Re: A new SMyLE mix Post by: Biggus Dikkus on February 16, 2012, 01:42:58 PM My only complaint is that it felt a little all over the place. But your mix of "Do You Like Worms" was great. Overall a pretty good job.

Overall a pretty good job. Thanks for listening, Biggus, and the feedback. I like to think that Smile would have been a little "out there", so I suppose "a little all over the place" isn't too bad. Glad you dig Worms.Title: Re: A new SMyLE mix Post by: KokoNO on February 16, 2012, 08:34:56 PM Could someone point me to a comprehensive list of Smile fan mixes? Just very interested to see what's out there (and to add all these great new ones that have popped up!)
Title: Re: A new SMyLE mix Post by: KokoNO on February 17, 2012, 11:41:50 AM Oh man, this mix is so wonderfully weird. Love how extended some of the tracks are and the way bits of one track are inserted into another. Very well done!
