That is true about the bonus tracks. The 3 posted to the newer release were with the 1971 Central Park Concert. Those three are culled from the Good Vibrations From London show.

This and the first Carnegie show earlier in the year would make a nice 50th Anniversary release. They were both damn fine shows.

I believe it's only about half the show. Eric's gig archive might reveal more.

Do people still tape trade in the "blackmarket"?  It's sort of an outdated method to share bootlegs isn't it?  Today, everything is being uploaded online and everyone is able to download the recordings straight to their computers within minutes.

Downloading doesn't really appeal and doesn't seem to be for keeps. File sizes are usually smaller and lower quality than silver discs and there's nothing tangible.

Call me an old fart, but I'd rather have physical product.

Easy.  A lot of bootlegs are uploaded in FLAC format (then you extract them as WAV files) which is far superior to the lower quality mp3.  Physical product?  Well, once you've downloaded the .wav files...you burn them on a CD.  ArtworK?  You print them out on your printer and buy a jewel case to put the disc in.  Voila!

I used to make my own artwork but realized that the music was more important than the cosmetic preferences of artwork or packaging.  Plus, considering how common downloading is today, there is no guarantee that the bootleg/import you've purchased for $30 wasn't obtained the same way---or even worse ripped from an mp3 source.   Plus, how does anyone really trade anything today when again, most items are found online?   When someone is missing a recording in their collection--it's found online.  Bottom line, today, it doesn't pay to actually pay or trade recordings in this day and age.  You're basically paying for someone else to do somethig you can do yourself with no guarantee that you're getting the best quality you can get.  Just my two cents...

Seeing as how many filesharing sites have gone into shutdown over the last couple of days, don't be suprised if we have to revert to the old fashioned way pretty soon.  :o

Well, it's a tad harder, more time-consuming, but much more rewarding!

It's been a little while, but I always did it like this...

You have to put the name of the boot you wish to purchase in a locker at a nearby airport or train station, then wait for the next full moon and walk about town until you see a man smoking two cigarettes and whistling the theme to The Odd Couple. You then hand him three dollar bills that have to add up to $27.50, upon which he will tell you where your bootleg is buried (usually a park, or nearby cemetery) then hand you a toothpick and a stick of gum. You do not ask questions.

And if at anytime you should happen to see two elderly gents in Hawaiian shirts and baseball caps lurking nearby, best run like hell.

A lot of new vinyl bootlegs are being done over the last 3-4 years. We need more Beach Boys!

Last time I saw a vinyl bootleg come out was in the late 80's.  Thought they were extinct!

Just enter Rolling Stones, Beatles, Dylan, Pink Floyd on Ebay. I have bought about 100 over the last three years

You know, I can totally understand buying classic albums on 160 gram virgin vinyl. But why would you want to continue spending the money on bootleg vinyl albums if the audio quality is equal to or less than that of CD, Flac, or Mp3 downloaded sources, which are more ubiquitous? After all, most bootlegs consist of studio outtakes and live performances and most of the time they're sourced from second or third generation tape (or digital) right? And from past experience (Beatles, Beach Boys, Stones) vinyl bootlegs were usually pressed on inferior vinyl, right? So what's the use? Just to be consistent with the vinyl collection? Surface noise, clicks & pops, skips, wear, warpage.............no thanks.

I happened to stumble on a copy of this new reissue today. And as I never was able to find that Hang Ten release of a couple of years back, I'm quite happy to finally have this recording on CD.

Hmmm...I wonder where that "Good Vibrations From London" recording came from.....

P.S. I was simply sharing it for free and was NOT trying to help greedy bootleggers make money.
