Title: Wondermints Appreciation Thread Post by: FatherOfTheMan Sr101 on January 09, 2012, 12:44:38 PM Sure, they're a great backing band, but their own albums are incredible!
Here's What I Think... Wondermints= 10/10 Wonderful World Of...= 8/10 Bali= 9/10 Mind if we Make Love To You?= 9/10 Title: Re: Wondermints Appreciation Thread Post by: Jason on January 09, 2012, 12:51:56 PM The Wondermints are not Brian's backup band. MEMBERS of The Wondermints are members of Brian's backup band.

Title: Re: Wondermints Appreciation Thread Post by: Jason on January 09, 2012, 04:37:13 PM If all that an appreciation thread for the Wondermints can offer is a rather simple, one-sided look at the music, I can see why others would reach that conclusion. Of course, I've LISTENED to the Wondermints and agree with Mr. cablegeddon. :)

The Wondermints are alright, but if we're talking 90's powerpop there is only Jellyfish. The 'Mints are a tad bland in comparison, the songs aren't up to snuff. Title: Re: Wondermints Appreciation Thread Post by: Aum Bop Diddit on January 09, 2012, 07:59:56 PM Ah I was about to say I love me some Wondermints but then you go and mention Jellyfish! The Mints don't hold up there, but then those 2 Jellyfish LPs are to my mind the best music of the 1990s. Regardless though, they are great musicians who made a lot of cool good music and the Summer in Paradise/Kokomo put down is insipid.
