Carnie Wilson will be on the US TV show "Wife Swap" on January 3. On this show, wives (usually not celebrities) from two families switch places. They usually choose two families that are very different to play up the conflict with child rearing techniques, etc. Carnie is swapping households with actress Tracey Gold. Not sure I want to watch Carnie on yet another reality TV show (not sure if she's addicted to fame or just needs the money), but I will probably end up tuning in if I'm home tomorrow night. All wives leave a "household manual" for each other. Here is Carnie's, if you're interested. Mention of Diane (Aunt Dee Dee) in there.

Carnie's pretty funny, I've enjoyed her on the shows I've seen.

I read Carnie's household manual and apparently Aunt Dee Dee is a major part of the kids' lives. I assume she'll make an appearance on the show.

I love when Carnie Wilson is on TV. Not my type but she's usually hella funny. I hope  Ican remember to watch this!!!

Carnie's a great gal, but I just don't understand why anyone would want to watch a program like Wife Swap. Admittedly, I have a pretty strong dislike for most "reality" television programming.

Carnie has appeared on quite a few shows in the past five years on cable channels. I remember she was a judge on some country singing show a couple of years ago (kinda like American Idol). Then I saw her talking about her weight problem on The Doctors and Diane was in the audience. Then for a week this Summer she was a replacement for one of the ladies on "The Talk", an afternoon talk show. And I know I've seen her as a guest on at least two other shows in the last couple of years. Maybe Diane is her agent and calls every show she can to get her on; not sure.

One thing I did read recently was that Carnie was/is going through the early stages of foreclosure on her house. She's probably looking for ways to bail out of it. Don't know what the status of that is, but it makes sense that she's looking for work, including appearances with Wendy at a couple of venues scheduled for early this year.

Sounds like a BW interview circa 1976....

She was on a country show a few years ago, where John Rich was trying to find the next big country star.  So all these people famous from other walks of life were on it.  Pretty neat show, Carnie was a pretty decent talent, she wrote a good song... she got blown away by Jermaine Jackson though.  The guy was awesome, I don't know why he never got his stuff together.

I saw that country show (b/c Carnie was on it). I think Julio Iglesias Jr won. The best was Bobby Brown. Though I'm not a fan of things he's done in his personal life, the song he wrote for that contest was great:

I wish someone would pay me to burp and fart on television.

I didn't watch it and won't, but did read a couple of online reviews and the reader comments.  A lot of comments about Carnie and her kids having a sad life, or at least it came off that way on the show.  I've never been a big fan of Carnie's need for attention by appearing on multiple reality shows.  Though if her husband doesn't work, I guess someone has to do something to pay the bills.  Rob didn't come off too well on this show, according to the reviews.

I'm sure at least 70% of it is clever editing and scripted BS. They're not very good actors. Carnie's very lucky to be able to appear on these shows since it's paycheck and publicity which is something a lot of people who make music these days don't get very much of.

I'm not sure how her family life or marriage is in reality, but agreeing to put her family on a show as freaky and dysfunctional in concept as this one couldn't have been a good idea.  Not to mention it sounds like a boring swap.  It's just too bad she didn't get swapped with Gary Busey's wife.  Gary Busey and Carnie would have made an interesting couple.

I just hope Brian doesn't have a copy, since he seems to be a Playboy enthusiast. Yikes, if that arrived in the mail one day.
