Weeeell, I think it's both funny and respectful at the same time. You need to know the original song by heart and quite some detail of BB history to get all the jokes, which clearly shows that whoever did that just loves the Beach Boys. That beaming Brian at 0:42 is very nice, and then there's a tribute to Dennis and Carl at the end, too. "Brian, you're the dude, yo, Back in the studio"...
