Title: Alternate Dumb Angel Rarities
Post by: tansen on December 10, 2011, 08:40:12 AM
So, I was out of the bootleg loop for a couple of years, and I never acquired the Alternate Dumb Angel Rarities (got the whole original DA Rarities set though). Are these worth getting? Anything on them that isn't available elsewhere? I saw the tracklist on bootlegzone and noticed an alternate version of 'Busy Doin' Nothin'' which i haven't seen anywhere else, but I might be wrong.

Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Good question. I wasn't out of the loop but only ever saw these as downloads... Don't think they were ever pressed silvers or even CD-Rs.

The vocal on this "alternate" version sounds sped up. The vocal seems more prominant in the mix. Some intruments are mixed down and barely audible, but a couple of the instruments are left alone on the vocal track. The song fades earlier than the original. This sounds like an attempt at "oops'ing" and there are only subtle differences. A slightly different mix is all, as are many in this comp.

So it might almost seem like this is some kind of fan creation? Someone messing around with a few mixes, compiling from a few other bootlegs, etc.
I found a link to some (what may seem like a) dodgy company selling them online. I emailed them about it and they say they got them from east Europe. I dunno, 40 dollars might not be worth it.

Thanks for clearing that up for me! :)

Tansen, definitely don't BUY them from a dodgy eastern european company! These are internet era boots, from what I understand.... I did have them on my computer, but no more. They must be available somewhere.

Thanks for the advice hype, definitely following it. No point in buying mp3's burned to CD, I'll have a look around and see if someone has the digital files :)
