Title: Question About Sending Large Files Like WAVs... Post by: guitarfool2002 on November 21, 2011, 08:30:27 AM I used YouSendIt off and on for years to send large files with parts of a mix like a group of WAV files or zip files or whatever, anything too large for email but not business related, but now YouSendIt has put a limit on the size of each delivery at 50MB. Anything over that, I got a message saying it would cost 9.99 US per delivery, which is absurd.
Can anyone recommend another (free, if possible...) service along the lines of YouSendIt, or at least a good, reliable paid service where I won't get hit with malware and pop-ups if I subscribe to the service? I'm out of the loop with this and I'm guessing the obvious answer is staring me right in the face. Thanks in advance! Title: Re: Question About Sending Large Files Like WAVs... Post by: Austin on November 21, 2011, 08:37:29 AM Dropbox (https://www.dropbox.com/) is fabulous. You get 2GB free, and every account has a public folder where you can store files and easily provide download links for others.

Post by: guitarfool2002 on November 22, 2011, 09:53:14 PM :) I agree, I don't like updating much on my PC if what I already have works when I need it. But YouSendIt worked, it was free (best of all!), and for the very few times I needed it the service delivered the goods. Not saying it was great, and I'd use others for more important or business-related things, but YouSendIt was good until they got greedy. 9.99 for files over 50MB? That's a travesty.

I think megaupload (which has a file limit of a 800 megs, I believe, and is free) has existed since 2006, and there are countless other free ones that have a 200-300 meg limit, allow for you to have a free account (thus ensuring your stuff doesn't get deleted) etc. etc. etc. How YouSendit thinks they can get away with something like that is strange. |
