Title: Goon Influence Post by: Slow In Brain on November 20, 2011, 11:31:24 PM Don't know if many will recall the Goons UK radio show of the late 1950s early 1960s. There are touches of their humour across Smile and Smiley Smile tracks.
For example Brian being trapped inside his piano. Title: Re: Goon Influence Post by: Aegir on November 20, 2011, 11:48:01 PM Do you really think Brian was ever in the broadcast radius of this show? really?

Title: Re: Goon Influence Post by: Smilin Ed H on November 20, 2011, 11:55:13 PM No, but as an aside, there was some rock doc on the TV a couple of years back and some Rolling Stone stalwart was praising the off the wall eccentricities of certain Beatles tracks and putting it down to the use of illegal substances. Clearly didn't appreciate the Beatles love of the Goons.... Or maybe it didn't sound rock and roll enough.

That's all I was pointing out :-\ Sorry, won't fly Orville - the strapline up there clearly says "Goon Influence" - and there wasn't any. Title: Re: Goon Influence Post by: Slow In Brain on November 21, 2011, 11:41:53 PM Maybe second hand influence via the Beatles.
