Title: Shuffling Tracks: Sacrilege? Post by: harrisonjon on November 17, 2011, 02:07:32 PM Is shuffling allowed with Smile or is it sacrilegious? CIFOTM followed by DYLW then by The Elements works really well.
Title: Re: Shuffling Tracks: Sacrilege? Post by: stack-o-tracks on November 17, 2011, 02:15:52 PM I find this album to be listenable in almost any order. It's like a puzzle where all of the pieces are the same fit.

Title: Re: Shuffling Tracks: Sacrilege? Post by: 18thofMay on November 17, 2011, 03:41:01 PM I have tried the old random track method and have come up with some great accidental sequences.
Title: Re: Shuffling Tracks: Sacrilege? Post by: Tristero on November 17, 2011, 04:01:44 PM There is no wrong way to listen to Smile. :3d
Title: Re: Shuffling Tracks: Sacrilege? Post by: runnersdialzero on November 17, 2011, 07:09:37 PM Considering there's no 100% legit and/or finished tracklist, I don't see what the problem would be.
Title: Re: Shuffling Tracks: Sacrilege? Post by: Magic Transistor Radio on November 18, 2011, 07:16:19 AM I shuffle Pet Sounds, so why not? Ha ha, that'll get purests upset! :)
Title: Re: Shuffling Tracks: Sacrilege? Post by: vintagemusic on November 19, 2011, 09:44:55 AM I shuffle tracks on classic albums, Who, Beach Boys, Beatles, only very rarely is the sequence of an album
obligatory because of the flow or a medley or something Abbey Road obviously you would ruin it if you changed the medley, but thats the exception, I am waiting for my two disc set for Christmas. I listened to the Amazon Samples, and a couple of the real rough link pieces with bad fidelity, I am going to take those out, on disc one of the two disc set, there are I forget, two of three little vignettes, I'm in great shape whatever I forget, but the fidelity is terrible compared to the real tracks. I'm glad they included that stuff, but for my regular copy I'm gonna take that raw stuff out Parts Of Holland I dont think you could mess with the sequence too much. When I listen to Brian Wilsonn 88. I take my five favorite classics,, Love and Mercy Melt Away, There's so Many, Baby Let Your Hair Grow Long, and end side one with old rio grand... then side two becomes kind of a drag, but side one is as good as anything he has ever done more or less. So then I get Irked and I lift Your Imagination and She Says that She Needs me to flesh out a Hall of Fame Album. and f course Orange Crate Art, the song THen I have ten golden bisquits! LIfe is too short gotta listen t the good ones! I dont want to listen to let it shine or some of those weak tracks very often. |
