some band from 1976 covered Wild Honey. it's terrible. it does seem like they recorded it modularly though which is pretty cool. Title: Re: oh my god Post by: SMiLE Brian on November 16, 2011, 11:19:38 AM Yikes this is terrible, give me the original any day over this.
Title: Re: oh my god Post by: tansen on November 16, 2011, 11:20:37 AM Lol, are you being ironic? 'some band from the 70's'. It's Nazareth dude.
And I was expecting A LOT worse. Title: Re: oh my god Post by: Aegir on November 16, 2011, 11:27:36 AM never heard of 'em.
Title: Re: oh my god Post by: phirnis on November 16, 2011, 11:30:57 AM It's actually quite funny.
I'm wondering if the Wishbone Ash rendition of "Anna Lee The Healer" is going to surface anytime soon. Title: Re: oh my god Post by: Quincy on November 16, 2011, 11:32:20 AM " Love Hurts" 1976
Title: Re: oh my god Post by: tansen on November 16, 2011, 11:33:01 AM never heard of 'em. You never heard 'Love Hurts' ? and lol phirnis. Title: Re: oh my god Post by: Aegir on November 16, 2011, 11:50:25 AM Just looked it up on youtube. never heard that version, I'm only familiar with the Everly Brothers version.
Title: Re: oh my god Post by: Roger Ryan on November 16, 2011, 11:55:17 AM The video made it a little easier to get through, but I can't say that cover was any good.
If you listen to any "classic rock" radio, you've probably heard Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog" ("now you messin' with a son-of-a-bitch!"). Title: Re: oh my god Post by: trismegistus on November 16, 2011, 11:55:26 AM When I think Nazareth, I think Hair of the Dog.
And jeez, Nazareth AND Wishbone Ash in the same forum thread? I'm feeling some big 70's hard rock vibes here! "I want to be a warrior, fighting to be freeeee...." Hair of the Dog is awesome, though! :) Title: Re: oh my god Post by: donald on November 16, 2011, 12:23:30 PM It's actually quite funny. I'm wondering if the Wishbone Ash rendition of "Anna Lee The Healer" is going to surface anytime soon. Someone just gave some Wishbone Ash on a disc. It included nothing by the beachboys. And interestingly enough, nothing by Nazareth OR Wishbone Ash. Go figure. :p Title: Re: oh my god Post by: guitarfool2002 on November 16, 2011, 12:51:34 PM Nazareth doing "Love Hurts" is a godd cover, and it sounds great in the movie "Dazed And Confused". I like the duet version done by Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris too. Beautiful vocals on that version.
Title: Re: oh my god Post by: debonbon on November 16, 2011, 05:37:17 PM Some guy covered God Only Knows too.

I know lounge singing may not be to everyone's tastes, but the slow treatment here really highlights the beauty of these chord changes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utPFpu8j548&feature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utPFpu8j548&feature=related) Title: Re: oh my god Post by: homeontherange on November 17, 2011, 04:39:56 AM Andy did it better I think. Edit: that was just the piano. |
