Title: (Smiley) Smile Post by: Aegir on November 09, 2011, 10:26:05 PM How's this for a Smile tracklisting? All tracks from TSS CD1 aside from "With Me Tonight", TSS CD4.
Side 1 1. Heroes and Villains 2. Vegetables 3. The Elements: Fire 4. He Gives Speeches 5. Do You Like Worms Side 2 1. Good Vibrations 2. With Me Tonight 3. Wind Chimes 4. Surf's Up 5. Wonderful 6. You're Welcome I got this idea because after the fadeout of Good Vibrations I always expect to hear "on and on she go dum be do dah". The only thing that's not sitting me with well is that I used Surf's Up to represent Gettin' Hungry. But Gettin' Hungry is so anti-Smile I had to replace it with something extremely Smile. Title: Re: (Smiley) Smile Post by: Dunderhead on November 09, 2011, 11:43:41 PM I tried the exact same thing!
I put the Veggies fade onto Heroes instead of false barnyard. The box version of vega-tables (minus the fade) transitions really well into Fire. And Worms after Cabinessence is also a great pairing. Title: Re: (Smiley) Smile Post by: Bicyclerider on November 10, 2011, 06:52:01 AM How about this? All tracks from Smiley unless otherwise noted.
Heroes and Villains Vegetables (unedited from Hawthorne) Gettin' Hungry Wonderful With Me Tonight Little Pad Whistle In Good vibrations Fall Breaks She's Goin' Bald Wind Chimes Mama Says (from Smile sessions, vocal montage) Surf's Up (67 version) You're Welcome (single version) I like the way side one tells a story (hungry for a girl, bump into her wondeful, she's with me tonight, then they get a pad in Hawaii). I wanted to put Mama says by Vegetables (after the veggie fest mama tells you to brush your teeth) but I couldn't work it so the sequence made musical sense. An alternative would be Gettin' Hungry/Vegetables/Mama Says but GH isn't too great after Heroes. A work in progress. Title: Re: (Smiley) Smile Post by: Bleachboy on November 10, 2011, 03:49:14 PM I've actually flown in the last "aaah" before they sing "been too long" from the a cappella version to the chorus of CIFOTM

Title: Re: (Smiley) Smile Post by: Alex on November 10, 2011, 08:20:12 PM I always use Hey Little Tomboy as the second part of my cycle of life suite, in between Gettin` Hungry and Swedish Frog.
