Because the chances of them making good music would be very small.  No one wants to see Willie Mays fall down in the outfield.  And they would all fall down. Except maybe Al.

I just saw a message on Capitol's BB mb, posted by the California Museum, that "The Beach Boys original members Mike Love, Al Jardine and Brian Wilson" will be inducted into the California Hall of Fame next month. This was accompanied by a poster for the event with a photo of Mike, Brian, Carl, Dennis, and David.

I think both David Marks and Bruce Johnston should be there for the induction too! And Blondie and Ricky, even if their California connection is more tenuous.

Check out David's solo stuff.  He's probably got the best voice now, after Al.

The California Museum answered my question about why no David Marks or Bruce Johnston in the CA Hall of Fame induction. They said they're only inducting the original members of the band -- Brian, Dennis, Carl, Mike, and Al.

I left them a message, said that David is an original member, told them about The Lost Beach Boy, and left a couple of links to Jon's website. We'll see if they'll reconsider.

I am all over this. Let's all all them and make this right. Enough is enough!

I just spoke with the museum and Mike  Love helped coordinate it or so they claim. If Mike tries to keep him out of this reunion stuff, probably for financial reasons, I am going to go ballistic. But I am setting the wheels in motion to set it right.

I guess i'm the only one who doesn't get all keyed up about this...

Some success to report! The California Museum has called David and is including him in the induction!

That's so cool. Good job guys! Glad to see he's getting recognition and hopefully it will get the ball rolling for some more reunion related stuff for Mr. Marks.

Excellent. If they are going to use a 1962 era photo of the Beach Boys to promote the event, they may as well invite all of the living guys in said photo. Nice job by those who helped bring this to their attention.

Good job by all of those involved with getting David his due at this event!

Hell, they need all the surviving members of the band that they can get!  No brainer - Dave Marks is an original member!
