I love the way that line just sits on top and glues the whole arrangement together, like it was always supposed to be there. You never knew it was incomplete until you heard it.

Like Fucking Mozart.

Made perfect by a few notes.

So wait, IHA, you have the box set already, or are you going by the sample clip?

I myself have only heard the new vocals on a sample clip, and was completely blown away, so I don't even wanna think of what my reaction might be when I hear it on CD.

Iron Horse-Apples said it perfectly - "like it was always supposed to be there."  Between that and the "ahhh" vocals behind the main chant (which have always been a favorite of mine), this is going to be the most perfect version of the original "Child" we've ever had by far.

Are the "ahhh" vocals there? Haven't really been able to give a solid, attentive, and headphoned listen to the clips, but I remember listening and thinking they weren't there.

Sample clip.

Those shitty samples sound fantastic, playing through shitty laptop speakers.

I think I'm going to have an epiphany when I hear the CD

First of all, am I crazy? I can't hear anything different in the HMV sample. Secondly, if that psychedelic slide guitar part from "Worms" doesn't show up on the set, I'm gonna be sad.

Are these vox the same as on Archeology but cleaned up? Wasn't this from a newly discovered acetate?

Not sure it's been determined that this particular version is the one that utilized a newly discovered acetate, but that would be my guess.  Between this and "Teeter Totter Love" it really is quite amazing how good the sound quality is, given where they came from.
