Title: She & Him Christmas
Post by: Matt H on October 25, 2011, 12:14:55 PM
She & Him released a Christmas album today with covers of "Christmas Day," and "Little Saint Nick."  CNN (Entertainment Weekly) say that they penned Christmas Day:

If you visit EW.com and see the full review, you can see they changed it to give the BBs credit

It's because up until 30 seconds ago when I changed it, the Wikipedia article didn't have a composer credit for Christmas Day but had one for every other song. lazy journalism.

That is what I thought too.

"Christmas Day" is basically my favourite song on the BBs Christmas Album so I'm excited to hear someone else cover it!

edit: Listening to "Little Saint Nick" now. Is this nearly-non-singing from Deschanel common to her? Also, why did they get rid of Brian's high parts -- those are one of the best parts of the song!

edit 2: "Christmas Day" is better because it's a more subtle song anyway, it's pretty hard to go wrong with such a basic offering, haha.

Ultimately, I think these covers are fine. I probably might even listen to them again for a change compared to the BBs versions!

I'm madly in love with Zooey not only because she is insanely beautiful but she also loves Brian and TBB, Even the rare stuff...

But that LSN cover is just terrible, Christmas day is a little better

So you're saying that EW.com noticed you had changed the Wiki credits 10 minutes before you changed them?

I'd say that's more like prescient journalism

I used to really be into that Zooey chick but then I got tired of her ignoring me all the time.

I wonder what Brian thinks of these. He did seem pretty into Ms. Deschanel after all :lol

Same here, you really can't go wrong with this combination.

That's not at all what I'm saying. I have no idea how you could have interpreted it that way.

The wikipedia article didn't have the composer credits for Christmas Day. I'm sure that's where they got their information from, which is why the assumed it was a She & Him original. that's sloppy, unprofessional.

then someone found out through means other than Wikipedia that the song was written by Brian Wilson.

then I went on Wikipedia and changed it, but that has nothing to do EW's article.

I interpreted what you stated in exactly the way you stated it, immediately following my post referencing EW.com's correction.
Now, for myself, I don't really care how they got the wrong info initially, or how they got it corrected; but your post coming immediately after mine led to that inference. Wherever they got the wrong info( I have no more knowledge of their source than presumably you do) it was corrected; perhaps it was just in the timing of our posts

I'm sorry for any perceived hostility. It's not a big deal. I don't know why I got so worked up.

It's this darn Smile release!
Why can't they just release it early, so all those chomping at the bit can get it??
(My copy will arrive sometime, and then I can check it out)

Zooey has been a celeb crush of mine since her blonde era.
