Title: BB euro dvd question Post by: Mr. Wilson on October 24, 2011, 09:03:41 PM I ordered " Forever " DW dvd from amazon USA.. From a California company i thought.. So i was very surprised to see when package arrived it was mailed from ENGLAND..!! .. It has a triangle with a "E" in middle of it which i believe means UK + western Europe DVD players.. On back cover.. Plus it says on back distributed by Sony bmg.... Now i was under the impression that this would not play in USA dvd player..BUT IT DOES..HMM.. Is this normal..? If so i need to go to Amazon UK + order The dvd Good Vibrations tour.. BB 15th anniversary TV show.. Only place to order it..Not available in USA.. Can anybody explain this + should i take a chance on the BB dvd also.. Many thanks in advance..!.. Cant wait for SMILE box..!
Title: Re: BB euro dvd question Post by: Camus on October 24, 2011, 09:35:31 PM The E is the classification rating meaning it is exempt from rating. Sounds like it is a region 0 DVD that would play in any DVD player.
Title: Re: BB euro dvd question Post by: Mr. Wilson on October 25, 2011, 08:26:02 AM Thank you.. Did some research.. DW DVD is 0 region.. So it will play anywhere.. BB good vibrations tour 1976 tv show is region 2.. So i guess it wont play in my DVD player is that correct..??..Funny there is a guy from Las Vegas reviewing it on Amazon UK..He never said anything about it not playing.. Wish i could find this DVD USA version.. I was there at that concert + im in the video at end.. Last 2 songs when they pan the crowd.. Any idea where to look for it anyone..? THX

"region 1" is US and "region 0" is all. pretty sure about this. and of course, you could always watch it on the computer right?

Title: Re: BB euro dvd question Post by: absinthe_boy on October 26, 2011, 04:34:37 AM Something I have noted on my travels, while multi-region DVD players have been the norm in Europe for around a decade, they are still rare in the USA. For example we Brits can usually play American discs on our players, but not vice versa.
But do try a google serch to see if your player can be hacked, as many can. Alternatively you ought to be able to play a region 2 disc on your computer or (with the appropriate software - DVD Shrink) make a backup copy that is region free. Still amazed that there are DVD players out there which are NOT multi-region...but it does seem to be the case in the good old US of A.
