Title: TSS on Spotify (not…) Post by: The Shift on October 20, 2011, 02:32:06 AM Okay, I'm listening to what purports to be TSS on Spotify.
It's not – quite obviously – but there's a beautiful, beautiful live version of Surf's Up that I don't believe I've come across before. It's listed as Surf's Up (1st Movement) – the tracklist is a dupe of the 2CD set but the versions can't be from the box set, for obvious reasons such as some are live performances! I'd guess this is an early ’70s live version. Carl's vocal is outstanding. Any info on this Spotify Frankenthang would be very much appreciated. (The track after Surf' Up (1st Movement) is listed as Surf's Up Piano Demo (Master Take) but is the Humble Harv demo, extended slightly with pre-play chat. I guess we can assume the stuff will disappear within minutes of me posting this here (powers-that-be and all that) but a brief heads-up might be enough. When I go to the Smile Sessions listing on Spotify, I get the songs that are already on Spotify from other BB albums, and certain songs on my local machine that match those on TSS (presumably in terms of song title).
Your next task: hunt down this version of SU on your computer! Your next task: hunt down this version of SU on your computer! I just learned more about Spotify! You're right - Live in Holland. How have I missed that. Too much music. Incidentally, now I know that this illicit music is on my 'puter, I'm taking out the hard-drive and burning it on the lawn. Naughty hard-dri… |
