That is a nice interview and summary of Hal. If you want some of the more detailed tellings of the stories Hal mentions, like the blow-up with John Phillips (Phillips was drunk and called Hal out for making a mistake when Phillips himself made it... :-D), his book is a short and great read with a lot of little details. And there are a few great online interviews as well. The book is well worth picking up.

The book is fascinating, if only for Hal contradicting his claims down the years that he played on "Surfin' USA" and the like by stating the first time he worked with Brian was for a Honeys track.  ;D

The rest of Hal's book more than makes up for that one page in the Beach Boys-Brian Wilson chapter. :)  There are some great stories and details in that book.

I've never met Hal Blaine, and I likey never will, but I know I'd like him.
