Title: Cubase maladies
Post by: hypehat on September 24, 2011, 10:00:19 AM
Was wondering if anyone could help. It's a long shot.

Running Cubase AI5 on a Toshiba laptop and recently it started blue-screen-of-deathing me. The problem, from what I could gather, was a driver associated with another piece of seemingly unrelated software that records streaming audio from the web. Did a system restore back to when it worked properly, then uninstalled the software and cleaned the registry, now the midi keyboard doesn't seem to be inputting any signal into cubase (usually it lets you know on the transport). The method of input is just a USB to Midi cable, nothing fancy. Am I missing something?

Have you tried running virus scans and disk defrag?

Tried the virus scan earlier and nothing seems to be wrong that end - I'll give defragging a go while I'm out, will see how that pans out.... Thanks!
