I've always found the notion of a big reunion tour a bit difficult to believe, but stranger things have happened. Brian singing "Colors of the Wind" awesomely, for one. Title: Re: No Reunion! Post by: Alex on September 24, 2011, 07:43:03 AM Believe it or not, the Mike and Bruce band got really good when John Cowsill moved to drums and Scott Totten became musical director. Bruce still just stands there clapping his hands, and Mike is still his usual corny, cocky, jerky self. But the band is great...Scott Totten does an awesome Betsy and Christian Love sounds a lot like Carl.

I just checked out more videos, i think the one i watched (of wouldn't it be nice) was just a poor moment for em. anyway, i always figured that any sort of "reunion" show would have an amalgam of bands. It's fantastic! I've been wondering about DFTS...supposedly Brian recorded vocals around 1989, and again recently? I think I hear a mix of his new sweeter sound, with his earlier, shoutier approach. To me, it sounds like his first 4 words in each verse is the new part, immediately answered by his 1989 self. |
