IIRC Soul Searchin' that does the rounds is the Paley Session with Carl's vocals flown in from the Was sessions? I ask because the backing for You're Still a Mystery don't sound like the rest of the Paley Sessions. It's more minimalist like the Was produced I Just Wasn't Made For These Times album. I can hear Mike and Bruce on this track, is Al there in the backing harmonies too? EDIT: I have checked AGD's excellent site but couldn't find an answer. Was written by Brian and Andy, however.

I know that's true for Soul Searchin', but for some reason I doubt it for this track. As stated earlier, it just sounds different from the other Paley backing tracks. Too clean. BTW, I can also hear Al on the track, too...but I always felt that if the Beach Boys had just set aside their prickiness and let Brian call the shots like before, YSAM would be a perfect example of the quality and artistic maturity they COULD have put out instead of that dreadful Bummer In Paradise...
