The original sung by Blondie dusts this piece of crap. What didn't you like about it, just out of curiosity? It got a little weird near the end, but I think Dennis would have approved. Title: Re: Primal Scream covering Denny's \ Post by: Mikie on August 22, 2011, 09:52:08 PM I don't think Dennis would have approved. Primal scream butchered it and it's a disgrace to the name of Dennis Wilson.
You wanna hear a real good cover of "Carry Me Home"? Search down a CD called "Long Promised Road" by the Adam Marsland Band. They do a live version of it. Now THAT one Dennis would be proud of. I think it's done sincerely. It comes from a great little EP called Dixie Narco. Don't know about later PS stuff but DN and Screamadelica are essential listens in my opinion. It's certainly unexpected and retains the mournful quality of the original recording with its own twists (of course, Adam Marsland's cover is quite good as well).

It definitely takes me back to moody indie music of the time period. That said -- I've never heard the original and probably my view of this would have been colored if I had.
