Title: Beach Boys Restaurant vs Cafe Post by: onkster on August 19, 2011, 10:40:25 AM Just read about the proposed restaurant in the Al thread.
Does anybody besides me remember the BB's Cafe down in Manhattan/Hermosa in the early 90s? I went there a few times, and have a matchbook somewhere. It was a higher-end burger joint--sort in the vein of Islands, but crossed with a BB's-themed Hard Rock. It was decent and good, not anything stratospheric, but it closed inside of a couple years. Still have a match book cover, two menus and a sweat shirt. Food was ordinary, but the decor (rare photos, signed guitars, etc) was worth the trip. Only disappointment was that they were playing top 40 music, not any BB's...
