"Baby Mine" :love Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: Magic Transistor Radio on August 17, 2011, 07:11:38 PM Who says TLOS was Brian's last great album? Reimagines Gershwin was great, and I am guessing this will be too!

I don't see why.. Seems like a smart idea by Disney to capitalize on the insanity that will be the smile release Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: rab2591 on August 17, 2011, 07:22:47 PM Either way this is fantastic news.
The PR machine is starting to roll for Brian's new album....can't wait to hear what he's come up with! October is the month after next! (and in 15 days we'll be saying it's next month!)...Right around the corner! Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: Alex on August 17, 2011, 07:41:00 PM November for Smile? What happened to Oct. 4?
Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: TdHabib on August 17, 2011, 08:41:12 PM This sounds sweet! Can't wait!
Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: stack-o-tracks on August 17, 2011, 10:21:30 PM This should be an interesting album. I'm either going to listen to it all the time or like twice. I wonder if he'll play any of the songs live.
Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: rogerlancelot on August 18, 2011, 12:07:14 AM November for Smile? What happened to Oct. 4? They recently discovered more material and felt obligated to add it before the pressing plants started pressing. Must've missed that announcement. 2 - Given the way Disney sometimes do such tie-ins, it might only be available at Disney parks and stores for a while before it hits the racks. Happened before. Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: The Shift on August 18, 2011, 05:24:16 AM Early for Oct 25, you mean? :-\
Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: Cliff1000uk on August 18, 2011, 06:32:55 AM Early for Oct 25, you mean? :-\ Yes, sorry-early for Oct 25! :) Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: Wrightfan on August 18, 2011, 06:35:10 AM I Just Can't Wait to be King sounds like it'll be more patterned after Elton's version (which I don't believe was heard as much as his version of Can You Feel the Love Tonight and Circle of Life)

Happened before. From what I've heard, Disney held back on releasing the album for so long partially due to the fact they were planning and trying to figure out a good business plan for the release. One of their main ideas was to make it a Disney Store exclusive. Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: The Shift on August 18, 2011, 06:54:05 AM This casts suspicion on the November 1st release date for Smile. I imagine it will be even later than that. I had peanut butter for lunch. I regret it now, as it's also probably contributed to another putting back of SMiLE's release date… … not. At the mo' the two are scheduled/rumoured to released within a week of each other. But they're hardly going to be competing for sales - musically they'll be virtually in different markets other than in the fan universe and the majority of fans who can aford to will buy both anyways. Nil problemo! Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: Cliff1000uk on August 18, 2011, 06:58:15 AM Would it be safe to say that Disney are keeping a closer eye on Capitol's scheduling, rather than vice versa ie. is Capitol particularly bothered about when the Disney album comes out?
I'm inclined to think not but happy to be put right! Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: Andrew G. Is this interesting because more than 11 tracks were recorded? Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: hypehat on August 18, 2011, 07:14:34 AM Disney trying to work around the fact that BWRG sold poorly is fairly rich seeing as they didn't put any of them in shops!
Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: donald on August 18, 2011, 07:24:19 AM I didn't realize BWRG sold so well! Its already gone ALUMINUM!
Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: 37!ws on August 18, 2011, 07:36:16 AM If it sold so poorly, how did BWRG go to #1 on the jazz chart?? Or is it that easy?? And if so, why have I not yet released a jazz album?

The demand was there, Disney just didn't supply the damn album Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: Alex on August 18, 2011, 09:21:55 AM I didn't realize BWRG sold so well! And if so, why have I not yet released a jazz album? it's easy for a jazz cd to go number 1 since there aren't as many released,so for example if BWRG is the only jazz cd to be released that week or within a couple weeks or even a month then of course it's going to go number 1 since there are no other new jazz cds for it to go against. now if he won jazz cd of the year at the grammys then THAT would be something big in the jazz community...Title: Re: Disney Album Out Oct 25 Post by: ESQ Editor on August 18, 2011, 04:39:25 PM Here's the information.
