Title: Japanese Lyric Translations
Post by: Surfer Joe on March 07, 2006, 09:19:49 PM
Did anyone else here have the late-eighties vinyl reissues of the Capitol catalogue?  I had them, and they were great at the time- restoring the albums to their original states, etc. for one last time before CDs came along a few years later.  But they had these brilliant, phonetically transcribed lyrics that were just the greatest.  A few highlights I can remember:

"California guys all populizin' that Girl From New York City..."
"Since she put me down I been doin' it in my head..."
"Night after night I stand here alone...eating out my heart until my toes explode..."

I'm not kidding, folks.  Those are just the ones I remember (and probably some of the best).  I seem to recall "Warmth Of The Sun" being a funfest, too...

Anyone else recall these?

Actually that's not funny. A friend of mine did that once.  You need to be very careful and not so complacent, guys.
