I want my voice to be heard. I've been listening to That Lucky Old Son. Can I tell you all something important? After a while all this music will become MUCH more important to you ALL if you love Brian at all. Think about it.

Let's all recognize what we have & love it now forever appreciating how amazing it is to even be happening. Brian Wilson is a very, very special person to me. That he's alive & well releasing great music like Sun, Reimagines, etc and showing himself to be VERY aware in some interviews, downright mischievous like an old Zen master... it's just cool.

BRIAN WILSON EXISTS!!!! It thrills me just to be alive knowing that he is also alive. Does Brian play keyboards on any of Sun or Reimagines? There's some cool Brian-like keyboard on Good Kind of Love and other songs. It would be cool if it were Brian, but it sounds too steady for Brian, I've never heard him not drift while playing. Although I hear keyboard being mixed in and out of different songs. California Role sounds like Pet Sounds in the chorus. Good Kind Of Love is like a Wild Honey song. Mike Love should have been on that song.

Hey guys, let's be positive and hope that if Brian & Mike write any new classics they have that cool classic Wild Honey groove to them. Brian & Mike are cool guys in my book. They still have it. I personally think that Brian's "rock and roll album" should be with Mike co-writing the songs (don't need to be fukkin masterpieces guys just some cool Wild Honey songs) and Bruce on psychedelic keyboards, Al if he promises to use his garage punk voice. Just imagine a Brian Wilson / Mike Love new album full of great songs. A last classic from the remaining originals and their helpers.

I believe in Brian. He's a genius. We will think of him like Bach when he is gone if we don't already. Perhaps if we all focus on the thought we can transfer some of our energy to Brian so that he can live as long as he wants. Another 80 years all we would need to do is collectively focus our minds on sending Brian our ever lovin Good Vibrations to sustain him in good health. Who's with me? How could you be against me?

Also what the f did "nobody" do? Why do people hate him so much? It seems everytime people don't like somebody he gets accused of being nobody, hell even I was accused of being nobody.

It's like - is this a secret club? I mean, can I not be here because a faction hate me? What bad have I ever really done? Who has died at my expense? I thought this was a place to talk Beach Boys. That's all I do.

Well, if you`re not Nobody, then you`re somebody. I`m not Nobody, nor am I Thomasogg, so cold I go brr, a chode, or the Bellagio Insider. I say cut ghost some slack until we`re 100% certain if they`re nobody or not. How do we know that nobody wasn`t the Lovester or AGD or Mark Linett or Real Beach Boy or Count Chocula playing a big joke on all of us? :lol

ghost is 'nobody'. I don't quite understand what nobody did to get people's backs up other than start a lot of surreal threads and talk about drugs a lot. Personally I enjoy the creativity and humour in this guy's writing. If we accept that a large part of the band's output drifts into tripped out 'outsider art' territory (smiley smile, love you etc ) then it's only natural that the board will attract less conventional posters. I think, providing they're not offensive  we should embrace these people rather than labelling them 'trolls' all the time.

NOBODY came up with some very weird topics, like if you play this song backwards it sounds like they are saying this, or if you get stoned, it has this meaning, etc. I think the reason he got kicked off was because he started like 20 topics a day.

I found some of his topics fun. Some people here are too serious to appreciate whacked out topic subjects. Things like sending out out thoughts of positivity can have an effect on Brian's lively hood. But, if you are serious mr Ghost, then I apologize. Of course, I might say, send out our prayers for Brian, and some might think that I am whack.

I've found music forums in many ways match the bands they are in honor of.   For instance there's a Kinks site I visit once in a while that's just really cool, nice, supportive, very down to earth.    This Smiley Smile board is unfortunately full of egotistical jerks who are often quite nasty, rude and trigger happy when it comes to attacking someone.  I find this to be in line with the Beach Boys in the sense that though I love the music, I think the band members were/are not all that likeable.    They're kind of assholes, just like a lot of the people on here.
This is an open forum, and anyone should be allowed to post or begin a thread about any goshdarn thing they like.  The Bully Brigade out here are the ones who need to f*** off and shut the hell up.  
I rarely ever share here anymore because of these types.    Personally, I like the dissenters,  conspirators and those who start "weird" threads and post funny smack - they keep things lively.

Well, Paul, you have a choice. Either post on Brian's message board (w/ the kiss-butts), the Beach Boys Britain board (slower than molasses in Wintertime) the Cabinessence/Shut Down board (just about dead), or the Smiley Smile board.

In my honest opinion, this one is the best board as it's the most active on any given day, has the most knowledgeable posters and experts/authors/researchers/collectors, and is by far the best for the latest information on Brian and The Boys.

I think ghost and Tobelman are right on the money.  Gotta love this board.

Though I love this board to death, it can be quite daunting. Sometimes Tas with my Male Ego fiasco) it feels like by mearly posting something or asking an innocent question is akin to tossing a saltine cracker to a famished grizzly bear!

Agree whole-heartedly. It'ss nice to have a bit of humor injected into general 'post-opinion-'shoot-down-opinion-pour-scorn-upon-poster' pattern.

Last year nobody tried to turn every thread on this board into a discussion about drugs and after a week or so of this most posters had had enough.
This year with Bill T droning on about Smile/Zen implications to himself, Phil bugging the sh*t out of everyone with his endless Captain Bringdown routine on the boxset and Flash Harry being, well.., just Flash Harry, nobody's posts seem like a breath of fresh air by comparison.

Nobody's posts here are like a flowery smelling blast from the ass. And a nice break from all of the bickering about the boxed set of course.

Being a pianist myself, I admire Vanessa Carlton. I liked her second album (can't remember the name off hand) and won two tickets to a concert here in one of the casinos (in Louisiana). Unfortunately she couldn't make the show because she was snowed out somewhere in Canada.

Yeah, I'm into this too.  Ghost's contributions have been totally fun and this board has really been a bit of a bummer lately.  Plus I think it's charming that he shows up at the same time every year.  It's tradition at this point.

I can't understand why some people keep insulting others. There's a few posters here with whose posts I can't connect at all, and a few times I told one or two of them in a mild manner,  but to put someone down instantly after he started a positivity thread isn't very well behaved. :-\

Yes, there has been some bullsh*ttery this last year, but there's still a lot of good stuff here. It still isn't like the godd*mned 910 (for Beatles bootleg fans) where every other word is sarcasm or hate--and that often from the guy that runs the site.

I, too, think we should count ourselves lucky that there is still a Brian Wilson here on earth, when so many of our other rock favorites have been dead and gone long before. And that he is loved, active, and relatively happy is the big pile of bonus points on top of the whole deal.
