Title: Beach Boys covers by The First Edition. Post by: MBE on July 22, 2011, 02:27:04 AM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3q4Dm8ixBws&feature=feedu
This is a medley that I think is pretty cool and good. Though some lyrical liberties are taken, this is a very early nod to the importance of Pet Sounds considering it's by an American group who rose to fame after The Beach Boys U.S. charts peak. While Pet Sounds was already a classic in Europe, I must give The First Edition kudos for realizing it's quality years before it became hip. Co-leader Terry Williams was the instigator behind doing this by the way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyoaHFkVGpg This is a pretty good cover of Disney Girls. I think you can see why I as a Beach Boys fan like this group so much. Title: Re: Beach Boys covers by The First Edition. Post by: bgas on July 22, 2011, 05:24:58 AM Thanxx for posting those!

I have to say that it started out pretty cheesy, but they did great with the Pet Sounds stuff later into it. They did seem to botch up the words in spots. I enjoyed seeing Kenny sing, especially Good Vibrations! Man I dunno what the hell happened to that guy, he really took his career in a crappy direction. Now he just looks like a manikin. I wish the First Edition did more stuff like,"Just Dropped In..." and "Ruby..." now those are classics! I guess I do enjoy seeing pics/video of him from the 80's just for a little comic relief from time to time :-D
