1) Studio orchestration (Wrecking Crew reference) 2) Goat in the studio, and changing musical direction (Pet Sounds/Smile reference) 3) Theremin mentioning (Good Vibrations reference) 4) Seclusion & alienating himself from the mainstream & society 5) Drug use (especially LSD) 6) Returning to the limelight in 1976 7) Regretting unfinished biz with his dad... 8) Tantrums & erratic behavior 9) Nervous breakdown and feeling out of touch with the world- 10) Getting sober and healthy 11) Making a rap song (Wipeout & Smart Girls reference) 12) Receiving achievement awards and getting due credit anything anyone else wanna add? And there's the rumored story of Brian getting his hands on $10,000 worth of it in one big pile in '78. It's actually on TV again in a minute but I have things to do. I kind of want to see the movie now.

It's actually on TV again in a minute but I have things to do. I kind of want to see the movie now. Also, I'm not sure anyone has mentioned that Van Dyke Parks wrote the song Black Sheep that they are recording in the Smile scene too
