Brian has gone ahead with shows that were only 25% out or so I've read in one or two reviews..

What's it cost?  HOW disgusting and how long is the flight?

RyanAir tend s to treat its passengers like cattle - crams them in with little legroom, no refunds for cocked-up flights… they lost my luggage on a short hop to Germany from London a few years back. They charge for all inflight drinks & snacks and were even threatening to charge for use of the toilets recently. In fact they came up with a proposal for having passengers stand…   go figure!

So this is probably about studio time being reserved for a "reunion" Beach Boys recording in L.A. or...........

The rock 'n roll album was Speed Turtle. 55 minutes of manic rock 'n roll condensed into a three-minute ditty.

True dat, AGD.  Maybe wishful thinking on Brian's part, but this could be the night. Read somewhere where he wants to make another 15 Big Ones type album of originals and covers.

Please God, no!  Maybe one or two covers at the most, but the rest let's hear originals, eh?

Pretty big news - as long as the studio work doesn't involve new recording for Smile, I'm excited about the possibilities. Given that he used the word "unavoidable" I would think it's either some last-minute work on the Disney album or something involving the Beach Boys. A new project on his own wouldn't require such urgency.

It can be as cheap as 20 pounds, with taxes. The taxes being the only cost pretty much.
Their planes are filthy, smell like sweat and puke, and you walk out with a horrible back pain. But it's worth it for the price! The flight is about 3 hours.

Do we have any reporters on scene to tell us what Brian's doing back in L.A.?

In my dreams: he got a bit of inspiration on the tour, demoed a song in a local studio, and rushed back to LA to record it properly. A good start to pleasure island.

Most likely what was said above though: last minute recording for the Disney album. Just my opinion.

I share your dream. His genius returns and he tells the tour promoter to go to hell. "I'm goin' back to the STUDIO!"

As I mentioned on the Shut Down II Board...I find it very interesting that Brian wants to do an album with an amusement park theme entitled Pleasure Island when the place where runaway boys are taken by the villains in Walt Disney`s Pinocchio where they are turned into donkeys and made enslaved laborers is also called "Pleasure Island." Hmmmmm.......  ::)

It is an album title for his Rock N Roll album that he wants to record.  He has been talking about the Rock N Roll album since the 90s, and more recently gave the name Pleasure Island as the title of the Rock N Roll album.

I really dig that album title...and I hope he goes through with recording it.

Seems strange that any of Brian's studio projects would be on such a rush schedule that concerts need to be scrapped.

This all sounds a bit dodgy to me - why would you cancel three probably profitable shows to go and do some studio work in LA when you could probably do it in London or somewhere similar.

My Scandinavian sources tell me sales were very slow. Obviously nothing to do with the postponements of course, but just sayin'...

Brian seems to do a few interviews where tracklistings, CDRs, etc... are just "left out on the coffee table"... not as naive as he seems, right?
