Title: Favourite live album Post by: Mike's Beard on June 16, 2011, 10:37:37 AM What are posters favourite live album(s). I've got Kiss "Alive" blaring right now and despite not being a major fan of them, they seem to have captured the energy of a live concert on tape more than any other live record I've ever heard. It's amazing.
Title: Re: Favourite live album Post by: Malc on June 16, 2011, 10:46:10 AM Too many to mention them - but off the top of my head
Genesis "Seconds Out" Poco "The Last Roundup" McCartney "Wings Over America" and, of course, "Beach Boys In Concert (1974) " ;D Title: Re: Favourite live album Post by: stack-o-tracks on June 16, 2011, 10:57:54 AM Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots & Alice In Chains all have stellar "Unplugged" albums.

It's one of the best live recordings I own of any band, any time, period.

It's a DVD, but I consider it an album as I ripped the DVD to Mp3 awhile back. Such raw power in every song (especially 'Let There Be Rock').
Title: Re: Favourite live album Post by: Rocker on June 16, 2011, 03:46:35 PM Elvis Presley - In Person
Nothing beats the power and soul on that album. This is not the actual version from the album, but you get an idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eg-CNZSJOA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eg-CNZSJOA) Jerry Lee Lewis' "Live at the Star Club" is a must, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y8TVDf070c (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y8TVDf070c) I don't know if I really have any other "favorite" live-albums. I absolutely love when artists do radio-appearances and play some 3, 4 songs. I can enjoy those kind of stuff more than a live-album many times Title: Re: Favourite live album Post by: Chocolate Shake Man on June 16, 2011, 03:52:57 PM For me, it's 3 central works:
Folsom, Johnny Cash Last Waltz, The Band Double Live, Rheostatics Title: Re: Favourite live album Post by: Jay on June 16, 2011, 08:25:08 PM In no particular order(except for number 1):

The Concert For Bangladesh(George Harrison) Title: Re: Favourite live album Post by: hypehat on June 17, 2011, 08:06:17 AM Watched Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads, which is technically an album too, yesterday. How INCREDIBLE is that.

Neil Young - Time Fades Away (So what if Neil hates it, he's wrong) The Rolling Stones - Get Yer Ya Ya's Out Jimi Hendrix - Live At Woodstock Van Morrison - It's Too Late To Stop Now Marvin Gaye - Live At The London Palladium Title: Re: Favourite live album Post by: Aum Bop Diddit on June 19, 2011, 06:56:15 PM The 70s BB double and the late 60s live in London one. Superb.
"On Your Feet or On Your Knees" by (The Amazing) Blue Oyster Cult. "Some Enchanted Evening" is great too, but this double is my fave. "Get Yer Ya Yas Out" -- The Rolling Stones. Like the bootleg '72 stuff a lot as well, but they may swing (less coked up!) a bit more here. Title: Re: Favourite live album Post by: TdHabib on June 19, 2011, 07:26:29 PM My faves:
