One his recent solo single, to boot. Dennis being the frontman would have been borderline insane as the 70's wore on.... I'm not sure why he didn't seize the moment when he injured his hand and thus couldn't play drums. When he sang a few numbers at 1970 and 71 shows he often asked for near darkness or didn't emote properly or seemed ill at ease-he wasn't a natural frontman-though he sure had talent
Title: Re: Dennis two lane blacktop interview Post by: DJ M on June 12, 2011, 08:38:10 PM The Criterion Collection's 2-DVD version is a "must buy" for any DW fan. The movie itself has never looked better, and there is a wealth of extras, including extensive interviews w/ James Taylor and the director Monte Hellman.
http://www.criterion.com/films/847-two-lane-blacktop BTW, Monte Hellman's first movie in a couple of decades, "Road to Nowhere," is now on limited release: http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/archives/monte_hellman_says_road_to_nowhere_was_a_group_subconscious_experience/ |
