Title: Wonder what caused this?
Post by: SMiLE Brian on May 27, 2011, 11:15:44 AM
"At the request of "The Beach Boys" management, the "Mike Love fanpage" has to be removed. Thank you to all the great fans for your interactions over the last couple years. Please like Mike Love's official new Facebook page as there will be no further updates on here. Good Vibrations forever."

I could make a nonsensical joke about there being "no Love lost" between camps, but I won't.

It was too popular. The entire World Wide Web frequently went into near meltdown due to the massive amount of hits the fanpage would rack up at any one given moment.

Possibly the fact that some of the YouTube links were to unreleased material ?

And that the material in the YouTube links were often better quality than the bootlegs...

It could be for the youtube videos or the page was giving links to news stories talking about reunion concerts, maybe Brian's camp was angry that Mike's camp was trying to pressure Brian into a reunion.

I just think it was because Mike's guys decided to get onto this "Facebook" that all the kids are talking about, and make him an official page. As such the "unofficial" Mike Love fanpage had to be taken down.

Or something, I don't know. We live in crazy, fast times.

Says the Beach Boys management, not BriMel. Also, Brian's official FB page has been reposting those very links. Hear that thud ? Theory collapsing.  :)
