That guy makes Brian feel comfortable. He doesn't ask dumb but thought-through questions. Although the "decade-long absence from the music business" between 1966 and 1976 isn't really true. I'll listen to the whole thing later, for sure. :)
Title: Re: Brian Interview on CBC Post by: smokeythebear on May 25, 2011, 06:49:21 AM Started of promising with the play of Baby Blue...but then... It was questions along the lines of - i know you hate being called a genius, but how do you really feel about being called a genius. Same old questions, what about good vibrations, what about the harmonies. The interviewer had the background roughly so he new Brian liked four freshmen and Bach, but after playing the Bach clip he went onto California girls and if it was inspired even tough he knew the answer. Same thing with the stereo hearing question.
A couple of guidelines when interviewing Brian: 1. Skip Yes and No questions. 2. Get a beautiful woman to do the interview. 3. Skip How does it feel to be called a genius question. 4. Skip the hearing voices question, we know he hears - where goona kill you , on repeat 50 times a day. 5. Skip the acid questions, he does not know how many times he took it, he remembers one time when he wrote CAG 6. Skip favorite single question, one day he will be shaking bars with Phil if that question pops up again. 7. Skip anything to do with Dr Landy, he was had he knows it, he does not want to discuss it. 8. Skip the have you ever surfed question, despite having written water based symphonies he is afraid of it. 9. Skip any regrets question, its always been and always be taking drugs. 10. Skip I just wasn't made for these times question, lyrics says it all and either way it will always be a social statement.
