Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Post by: bgas on May 10, 2011, 08:55:58 AM Yawn; no "experience" editions for any of the early LPs; hence no real bonus material.
Bonus material for Dark Side, WYWH, The Wall. Who cares? Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Post by: Mike's Beard on May 10, 2011, 10:44:19 AM I will get the experience edition of "Wish You Were Here" if it contains the 'household objects' sessions and the early versions of "Raving and Drooling" and "You Gotta be Crazy" Animals tracks.
I agree with Bgas that not expanding the earlier albums is a missed opportunity but not unexpected - Dave and Roger are embarrassed by much of their very early albums, so one can only imagine how they view the stuff that wasn't deemed good enough to make the grade! Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Post by: Mikie on May 10, 2011, 11:05:42 AM Ah, who needs "Pipers at The Gates Of Dawn" and "Saucer Fulla Secrets". I got 'em in pristine condition already.
Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Post by: Roger Ryan on May 10, 2011, 12:35:19 PM Yeah, I'm afraid this annoys me that I would have to buy the super deluxe box set to get the rare material for albums I've already purchased three times. I picked up the box set containing all the remastered albums from a few years back - I can't imagine there would be much of an improvement this time around unless they go the hi-def route on Blu-ray.
Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Post by: Barnshine on May 10, 2011, 01:26:33 PM Yawn; no "experience" editions for any of the early LPs; hence no real bonus material. Bonus material for Dark Side, WYWH, The Wall. Who cares? They say: "...and for three of the albums (so far) the three different special editions on offer - Discovery, Experience, and Immersion..." I'll say we're in for some more brand new releases next year. As long as it's not a deluxe Momentary Lapse of Reason. Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Yes, but good quality versions of "Vegetable Man", "Scream Thy Last Scream", and "In The Beechwoods", would have been rather nice. >:( Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Post by: Andrew G. Doe on May 11, 2011, 01:28:05 AM My guess, and that of others on the Hoff board (those that didn't keel over on the spot and expire) is that if sales of the three announced Experience and Immersion sets are good enough, there will be others. They're the three 'franchise' albums - makes commercial sense.
Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Post by: Mike's Beard on May 11, 2011, 10:05:21 AM Every now and then I get a lttle obsessed with pre Dark Side 'Floyd.

Actually, Meddle and Obscured by Clouds are my 2 favorite PF albums, followed by Dark Side and then Final Cut. Yes, Final Cut. Title: Re: Oh. My. God. I hope so, I already have a list of what I want included on Piper & Saucerful sets. :) The early ones are the ones I'd want for Deluxe editions. I kinda listened up through Dark Side and then split. Piper and Saucer were playing while I was dropping; I don't think I've even heard most of the ones after Dark Side; Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Post by: Mike's Beard on May 11, 2011, 03:21:24 PM Ummagumma, best album of all time for listening to while under the erm, influence. Never forget the time in my teens where we'd got some killer weed and one of my friends completely lost it and freaked out during the playing of the Rick Wright section at high volume. To this day whenever I listen to it I am reminded of him screaming "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Post by: Dead Parrot on May 11, 2011, 07:29:16 PM I must admit, i'm more than a little curious to hear "The Hard Way", and "Wine Glasses", which are the tracks included from the Household Objects sessions.
Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Post by: Dead Parrot on May 11, 2011, 07:50:40 PM Look like we may be getting a whole lot more. Here's an interview with Nick Mason, where he talks about listening to demos Pink Floyd recorded in 1966..

Post by: Roger Ryan on May 13, 2011, 02:22:51 PM Yeah, as the article noted, Gilmour had promised to do one of the WALL shows, so it makes sense that it was in London. Too bad he screwed up the lyrics! Nice surprise to have Mason there as well.
These guys are making a habit of showing up together over the past six years. Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Post by: Alex on May 23, 2011, 07:51:26 PM That "reunion" would`ve been sweeter if Bob Klose were there and if Syd and Rick were still alive.
Title: Re: Oh. My. God. Post by: hypehat on May 24, 2011, 05:55:01 PM And if Denny, John, Martin Luther King, and Jesus were alive, we'd have world peace!
