did landy perform a chemical and/or physical lobotomy on brian? is that what the drugs he was prescribed were for, and does anyone know what those medications were?

what all did he do to brian? anything experimental? i read the wiki on him but i wonder if there's more.

No, he didn't. This is grossly oversimplifying, but what Landy did second time around (1982-91) was essentially keep Brian docile with downers, then pump him full of uppers when he needed to 'perform', be it a show or an interview.

As for performing a physical lobotomy... I think we'd have noticed.

I'm starting to suspect Landy may have performed a lobotomy on a couple of members on this board.

A lobotomy does not guarantee that one becomes a vegetable. At one time lobotomies were being touted as a simple outpatient procedure that could reduce anxiety, paranoia, and treat a number of mental illnesses. Some unfortunate patients basically had their lives ruined, but others were able to return to their lives.
Lobotomies eventually fell out of favor in the 60s and 70s for obvious reasons.

There doesn't seem to be any evidence to support the idea that Brian had a lobotomy. However, if Landy had been the true quack some make him out to be I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that he would believe such a treatment might help Brian.

No-one said anything about Brian suddenly turning into Randle Patrick McMurphy until you jumped to the (erroneous) conclusion that this was what I was implying, but if any such treatment had been successful, we'd have noted a sea-change in his character and behaviour some time between 1982 and 1991 that was distinctly contrary to his evident slow descent towards TD. Also, given that one of the first things the new regime around Brian did was have him completely checked over prior to his being prescribed new medication, I think any such procedure would have been noted.

I didn't jump to any conclusion about what you were saying, because I wasn't responding to you. And yes, in fact someone did bring up turning Brian into a "Randle Patrick McMurphy" ( ::)) before I did. I was simply trying to clarify that lobotomies do not always result in a "Randle Partrick McMurphy" ( ::)) in case there was any confusion. Get over yourself.

I was in no way disagreeing with what you had already posted, yet you still feel the need to restate your point for some reason as if somebody was challenging it. There's no evidence for it. We agree, there's no need to try and start another debate.
