(note for sunshine pop fans: this is *not* the same Roger Nichols who wrote -with Paul Williams & Tony Asher- some of the greatest songs ever, but the Roger Nichols who -most famously- engineered Steely Dan's LPs. To answer your question: he engineered some of the Stars & Stripes sessions at Masterfonics in Nashville. (Finding that out took me maybe 30 seconds: Google - official site). Always enjoyed reading his articles on sound engineering in the pages of the excellent EQ magazine. Also had the pleasure of seeing him (from a distance) behind the board at a Steely Dan show in '93. It's always great when you see someone in the flesh that you've admired in print, and recognize them! Now he truly is Roger (The Immortal) Nichols. |
