"Cabinessence" was an excellent selection!  Now let's hear "Funky Pretty"!  And "Lookin' At Tomorrow"!

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

And after the show ended, Al came upstairs signed autographs, posed for photos, and talked to anyone that stayed.  Very gracious and a real gentleman.

I think it's just so awesome that Blondie is part of the Beach Boys "circle" again. He's a major asset to have, and I think it's great that he seems to be doing quite a bit of work with both Brian and Al.

It's just super exciting that this year Brian will be releasing an album with healthy participation by Blondie Chaplin and Al Jardine. Short of another Beach Boys reunion (with Blondie too) this is about as good as it gets. And I'm happy to be able to be around right now to experience it.

I would gladly pay for an Al Jardine "small club" acoustic show. I think it would be a great idea and I think if it was priced and promted well, it would do ok sales wise. Lots of die hard fans would go, I think.

Not only the show -- Al talks about Manson and Murray, among other topics.

Course, Al has less nerd-knowledge about the Beach Boys than any of us : he thinks Brian interrupted the recording of 'Wendy' to write 'God Only Knows'...

In Al's defence, he did admit later that he was wrong.

Sure, Al makes any number of mistakes as to remembering what went on; but let's face it, he lived all of that! HE wasn't writing their history, he was simply helping make the music. Day in/Day out.
While I'm sure we'd all like to think he'd remember every single detail ( and correctly, I might add) he was busy recording/touring/living. Most folks aren't going to remember their own story

Fantastic set list! I was privileged to see Van Dyke perform at a small nightclub in Portland (with string quartet) back in '10. With the right touch, I don't see why he couldn't arrange a cool little 15 show tour showcasing the deep cuts. The right acoustic indie band (someone with cred) would insure the right numbers and the right crowd.

Al's the man! More BB tunes in this style would make a pretty interesting show.

I was standing in the front row of this small gig in Berkeley a few years ago, so I had a taste of what an acoustic show with Al would sound like:

Wow! Thank you! Al sounds great. And how cool to see him play Banjo on a Pet Sounds song!

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Wow, Al sounded great on that! Now I really want to see the acoustic. small club tour. It would be the best sounding show by a Beach Boy I years.

Nice. Anyone post any videos from the first show? Would love to see those, especially Cabinessence and At My Window, and Where Have All The Flowers Gone.

Although the show was filmed, I wouldn't anticipate any audience videos coming out. The vibe of the room wasn't really "Hold up your iPhone for 5 minutes and record a video". I didn't even feel super comfortable taking photos 5 photos to be totally honest.  Undecided
